NOTICE: On September 8, 2016, CMS' Acting Administrator, Andy Slavitt, acknowledged the concerns expressed regarding
the start date of January 1, 2017 and provided three options for those choosing to participate in MIPS. These include:
1. TEST MIPS – participate by submitting some data during 2017 to avoid penalties, |
2. PARTICIPATE FOR PART OF THE CALENDAR YEAR – submit data for less than the full calendar year (2017) to qualify to receive a small positive payment adjustment, or |
3. PARTICIPATE FOR THE FULL CALENDAR YEAR – submit data for the entire calendar year (2017) to qualify for a modest payment adjustment. |
